Cultivation of Biomass

A key component of project planning for Micronation EcoEden is the independence of energy supply and in this context the use of environmentally friendly methods and techniques. Here again is elementary alongside solar thermal and other technically sophisticated solutions, the cultivation of biomass for the production of biodiesel or other fuels.

Biodiesel production and cultivation of biomass is quite rightly in the negative headlines, as currently the topic E10. It is unacceptable that food will become more expensive, because the respective plants are used for fuel, may not also tackle that plants such as corn and wheat are used, which mainly concerns why would trigger in addition to ethical concerns, because they deprive the soil of nutrients. And so then the hugely important worldwide, but most hushed topic of phosphate deficiency accelerate again.

The Green Elephant Umwelttechnologie and EcoEden Water GmbH & Co. KG  therefore focuses on mallows and especially on Miscanthus giganteus (miscanthus) as biomass supplier. In particular elephant grass has great advantages: The most economically absolutely lucrative cultivation, planting only one needed in 20 years, no fertilizer necessary two to three harvests per year, a very high yield, large energy yield, no nutrient uptake from the soil.

Before this Micronation EcoEden realize professionally and permanently to achieve and survive the post-collapse society both with mallow, as well as elephant grass, we will select more than 100ha cultivated area in Romania and grow elephant grass there. With mobile or decentralized biodiesel plants, we will utilize the biomass also regionally. This acreage generated already in climatically suboptimal times a calorific value of 700.000 ltr light fuel oil annually. By comparison, the negative monoculture of corn generated at the surface 100.000ltr most converted calorific value per year.
Unfortunately the blueprint of Miscanthus in an area of 4,500 ha in Albania is currently failed due to the incompetence of the Ministry of Agriculture, so that we on the one hand to avoid areas within the future project and also be active in this regard in other states. Albania has missed a great opportunity to distinguish themselves positively.
